More room for solo explorers: FREYA now has up to 6 single cabins

Classic Single Cabins expand to Deck 2 — plus a new bridge lounge made for slow polar moments.
### New Update: Expanded Solo Cabin Availability on MV Freya

We’re pleased to share an update that may be particularly valuable for clients travelling independently.
We’re pleased to share an update that may be particularly helpful for solo travellers — or for those who simply prefer the comfort and privacy of their own cabin.
Our expedition vessel Freya now accommodates up to six solo travellers , while maintaining the same maximum of 12 guests on board. We’ve expanded the single cabin offering with two additional Classic cabins on Deck 2 , creating more genuine single availability across select voyages.
For travel advisors, this means more opportunities to place solo clients without requiring cabin sharing or mandatory upgrades .
“Many of my clients travel solo, especially for polar expeditions. Freya’s small group size combined with true single cabins makes it a very appealing option for independent explorers.”
### Travelling solo, but not alone
For many guests, an Arctic expedition offers the freedom of independent travel while still sharing the experience with a small group of like-minded explorers. On a Secret Atlas Expedition Micro Cruise , with just 12 guests on board, every landing, Zodiac excursion and wildlife sighting becomes a shared moment.
It’s this natural rhythm of the expedition — exploring together during the day, then returning to the ship to exchange stories and photographs — that creates connections effortlessly. Many guests arrive solo, but rarely leave feeling that way.

What’s changed (and why it matters)
* More single cabins: Expanded single capacity means more departures where solo clients can secure their own cabin.
* Up to 50% solo explorers: On select expeditions, as many as six of our 12 guests may be travelling solo , creating a naturally balanced and sociable onboard dynamic.
* Same FREYA feel: The vessel remains intentionally small, comfortable, and designed for explorers who spend their days outside — returning to a calm and personal onboard environment.
We’ve also introduced a new bridge lounge , located at the heart of the ship. With our 24/7 open bridge policy , guests can step in at any time to watch how each day’s plan unfolds alongside the captain and expedition team — observing wildlife, weather patterns, and ice conditions from one of the ship’s best vantage points.

### Planning for solo clients
If you have clients considering a 2026 or 2027 Expedition Micro Cruise or Photography Expedition in Svalbard or East Greenland , we’d be happy to help you identify voyages that offer up to six single cabins .

Freya has always been about travelling quietly, thoughtfully, and with space to be yourself. Expanding our single cabins felt like a natural step, as many of our guests choose to explore independently. We hope this makes it even easier for our partners to place solo travellers on board with confidence.
