Our NGO, Variety Cares, launched the Lamin Koto School in Gambia in 2011, promoting it as a benchmark for regional education. Recently in 2023, we inaugurated the Rose Museum with The Explorers Club, enriched by their donation of important historical artifacts.
Tendaba Nature Reserves
Kiang West National Park and Bao Bolong Wetland Reserve, near Tendaba, highlight West Africa’s diverse ecosystems.
Kiang West boasts savannahs and woodlands rich in wildlife, including antelopes, baboons, and over 200 bird species. Nearby, Bao Bolong’s extensive wetlands are crucial for migratory birds and aquatic life.
Kunta Kinteh Island
James Island, now known as Kunta Kinteh Island, is located in the middle of the Gambia River and it was an important slave trading post under the British rule in The Gambia. It is now a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.
