More than a century ago, British sea captain George Vancouver sailed the northwest along our enigmatic Pacific coastline, announcing he had discovered a place so wild, he almost didn’t map it. If only he had seen half of what we experience aboard the Swell, he’d have left with a very different view of the misnamed Desolation Sound.
