Photo by Dan BatchelorWitness nature’s grand comeback in one of the most biologically productive and beautiful regions on the planet. Snowcapped peaks ring a richly productive inland sea that is fed by dozens of salmon-bearing rivers and the cold Pacific ocean that sweeps in twice every day.
This isn’t your ordinary small ship cruise; it’s a celebration of spring’s return and the untamed beauty of the Gulf Islands in the calm of spring, beyond its well-travelled ferry route.
And don’t just take our word for it: See why solo traveller and repeat Maple Leaf guest, Diane, finds our Salish Sea Supervoyage truly remarkable.
In the fall, explore the island colours on hikes, beach walks, and tours through historic homesteads. Golden colours of autumn line the islands this time of year. If you’re as curious about the region’s wines as you are the nature and culture that inspires it, there’s our special Wines and Islands cruise—rated one of the “10 Best Wine Vacations in North America” by Time Out Magazine.

Gulf Islands and Salish Sea Expeditions (4 or 5 days) sailings depart in October and April (multiple dates) starting at $3,200 aboard Maple Leaf and $4,280 aboard Swell before taxes, based on cabin category.  Book a qualifying spring or fall sailing and get a credit deducted from your fares to cover local airfare. See our Special Offers for qualifying trips, deadlines and more offers.

Welcome to Haida Gwaii, an archipelago on the edge of the Pacific Ocean that feels like a world of its own. Here, the ancient Haida culture is alive and thriving, with towering totem poles, traditional longhouses, and captivating storytelling. Immerse yourself in this remarkable place where the spirit of the islands is palpable.

With every expedition, we aim to provide an enriching experience that not only connects you with the breathtaking natural beauty of Gwaii Haanas, but also immerses you in the captivating stories and traditions of the Haida people. This includes the addition of a Haida storyteller as a member of our crew on every Haida Gwaii expedition aboard the Cascadia, and also many of our Maple Leaf trips.

Haida Gwaii (8 or 9 days) sailings depart May or June (multiple dates) starting at $9,030 aboard Maple Leaf, or $12,460 aboard Cascadia before taxes, based on cabin category.

The start of autumnal showers are an unwelcome sight for some. Here on the coast of BC, they bring extraordinary wildlife events. Each year as salmon return to their natal streams to spawn, coastal bears come out of the forest and into the estuaries to feed on the plenty.

Tours to see these foraging bears are led by our crew who are certified bear viewing guides. This is the only time of year with an opportunity to see the elusive Spirit Bear.

Great Bear Rainforest Fall (8 or 9 days) sailings depart September and October this year and next (multiple dates) starting at $9,450 aboard Maple Leaf, $11,920 aboard Swell and $11,740 aboard Cascadia for 2024 (before taxes, based on cabin category). For availability and pricing this year, simply reply to this email.

We travel to the Great Bear Rainforest in Spring and Summer as well, each season offering unique wonders. Book a qualifying spring or summer sailing and get a credit deducted from your fares to cover local airfare. See our Special Offers for qualifying trips, deadlines and more offers.

Photo by Jeff ReynoldsExplore the stunning waterways, fjords and islands of Desolation Sound, one of the world’s most popular cruising destinations. A coastal safari where you’ll experience the thrill of adventure and the tranquility of nature.
Set sail on a luxurious yacht and explore the rugged coastline, surrounded by stunning mountain views and crystal-clear waters teeming with wildlife. We have the place almost to ourselves to enjoy whales, seabirds, and if we are lucky a foraging bear.
For fall trips, we’re pleased now to be partnering with friends who have an Indigenous owned setup along a river in one of the region’s fjords to augment the opportunities to see bears, too.
Desolation Sound (5 or 8 days) sailings depart April, May or October (multiple dates) starting at $3,100 aboard Maple Leaf, $3,710 aboard Swell, and $5,170 aboard Cascadia before taxes, based on cabin category. Book a qualifying spring or fall sailing and get a credit deducted from your fares to cover local airfare. Discover the untamed beauty of Alaska’s Southeast, a wild place where towering glaciers meet lush rainforests and dramatic fjords carve through the landscape. Colossal icebergs calve into the sea, and grizzly bears forage along riverbanks. This remote region, accessible only by small ship, offers a pristine wilderness experience like no other.

Alaska Adventure (10 or 12 days) sailings depart in July and August (multiple dates) starting at approx. $9,200 USD before taxes, based on cabin category.

It’s an opportunity to go beyond the typical Vancouver Island vacation and dive deeper into learning about weather systems, local culture and wildlife phenomena that provide fodder to BBC and Netflix documentaries.
Vancouver Island (7 or 8 days) sailings depart next May, July, August and October (multiple dates) starting at $5,240 aboard Maple Leaf, or $8,910 aboard Cascadia before taxes, based on cabin category. Book a qualifying spring sailing and get a credit deducted from your fares to cover local airfare.
