Travel to the Arctic with Dr. Sylvia Earle

Aurora Expeditions, in partnership with Dr Sylvia Earle and Ocean Geographic, is calling your travellers to join a groundbreaking expedition to the Arctic – the “Bears, Ice, Glaciers, Arctic Climate Expedition 2025” (BIG ACE).

Hosted by Dr Sylvia Earle in her 90th birthday year, this expedition will honour Dr Earle’s lifelong advocacy for the world’s oceans by inviting changemaker passengers to use their own voice, contributing their various talents or ‘superpowers’ to instigate meaningful conversations and spur action to safeguard the planet for future generations.

Arctic Climate Expedition – BIG ACE

The 13-day BIG ACE Arctic Climate Expedition begins on 23 June 2025, with 2 nights in Oslo and 1 night in Longyearbyen. Participants will then board Aurora Expeditions’ small ship, Sylvia Earle, to embark on an expedition to Svalbard, from 26 June – 5 July, 2025.

Highlights

  • An exclusive opportunity to travel with the legendary Dr. Sylvia Earle and Ocean Geographic on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
  • Passengers will discover Svalbard’s wonders, with polar bear sightings, guillemot cries echoing from cliffs, and beluga whales rising from icy waters—an unforgettable Arctic adventure.
  • Adventurers uncover wildflower-strewn tundra, watch for arctic foxes, discover historic camps, and circle colossal glaciers.
  • Hands-on workshops and activities designed to foster environmental stewardship and promote sustainable living.
OUR MISSION
The project will seek to lobby for the protection of the Arctic, foster a collective appreciation of our planet’s fragility and mitigate the impact of climate change via the power of the arts. The Arctic, where warming occurs at a rate four to five times greater than the global average, is undergoing significant degradation. We hope that BIG ACE can contribute to the protection of this awe-inspiring region.
