Tasmania to receive Coral Discoverer

February 7, 2017

There is no finer way to experience Tasmania’s remote southern coastline than by expedition ship, and no other itinerary with the ability to capitalise on the unique experiences Tasmania offers.

In 2018, Tasmania is set to welcome a new arrival to its shores, the state-of-the-art Coral Discoverer.

Coral Discoverer underwent a major refurbishment in November 2016, adding new facilities to her already comprehensive onboard experience, and now boasts a brand new Sun Deck Explorers Bar as well as Bridge Deck Balcony Staterooms.

As a response to strong demand, our third season of Tasmanian expedition voyages will see Coral Discovererable to take a fortunate 72 guests to the farthest reaches of Tasmania’s rugged coast. Her shallow draft and manoeuvrability, as well as active stabilisers, are ideal for this itinerary, and allow her an unmatched ability to enter the shallow bays and inlets of Tasmania’s otherwise virtually inaccessible west coast.

> CORAL DISCOVERER EVOLUTION

Emerging after a multi-million-dollar improvement project, our flagship Coral Discoverer now boasts more refined facilities for guests travelling to Tasmania and the Kimberley, as well as all international itineraries.
The ship now invites guests to enjoy our first Bridge Deck Staterooms, complete with private balcony. These six rooms, located on Bridge Deck, are 20sqm in size, and provide coveted indoor-outdoor living spaces with the private balcony opening out from French doors.

In addition, every stateroom on Coral Discoverer has also received improvements to soft furnishings, bringing increased comfort to all guests onboard.

The Explorers Bar on the Sun Deck
Coral Discoverer was built to very high standards in Australia and this refit has ensured she remains the most comfortable small expedition ship afloat today.
The refurbishment also sees the addition of a new Explorers Bar on the Sun Deck, perfect for sunset drinks, with shade cover, alfresco dining area, outdoor furniture and exercise equipment also available on the promenade deck. On Main Deck, a new dining room and on Bridge Deck a new lounge offers increased comfort and visual appeal.
