Passengers Arrive to a “Warren Welcome!”
Last week passengers arrived in Warren, Rhode Island excited to embark on Blount’s signature itinerary, Great American Waterways. They received a warm “Warren Welcome” from Nancy Blount, President of Blount Small Ship Adventures, Captain John Hunnewell, Nancy’s son Peter Palumbo and his dog Remington, the BSSA pup. Before departing, guests enjoyed a lunch with members of the Blount family, who mingled with passengers to celebrate their arrival in Warren, where the company began 50 years ago.

Deep blows from the ship’s horn signaled it’s departure, as locals and remaining crew watched it cruise south towards its next port of call in West Point, New York.   With 16 days ahead, passengers will being going where no other overnight passenger vessel can – through the amazing locks of the Erie Canal, stretching 363 miles of breathtaking scenery that concludes in Chicago, IL.
The first Warren Welcome of the season was a great success, bringing that feeling of “home” to passengers the moment they stepped onboard. It was the perfect way to commemorate what has made our business special after 50 years, the importance of sharing an adventure with people that feel like family and friends.
